WTCSD 2012 International Business Leadership Awards (IBLA)
34th ANNUAL IBLA CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
WORLD TRADE CENTER San Diego (WTCSD) hosts the IBLA to recognize excellence in international trade. Nominations are reviewed by a panel of respected judges from San Diego County who select the winners.
This is an opportunity to recognize the achievements of your own or another company for excellence in international trade. Nomination Deadline is Friday, August 31, 2012. All submitted information is subject to verification by WTCSD and its affiliates.
IMPORTER OF THE YEAR
Importer of the Year is a company that has significantly contributed to imports within San Diego County.
Judging Criteria
The criteria on which each nominee for Importer of the Year will be judged are:
- Which countries the company imports from
- % of imports relative to overall sales
- Increase in % of imports relative to overall sales over past two years
- Number and locations of markets from which products are imported
- Number and locations of new markets from which products were imported during previous year
- Increase in employment within company due to import sales
- Social responsibility and environmental sustainability of company
EXPORTER OF THE YEAR
Exporter of the Year is a company that has significantly contributed to exports from San Diego County.
Judging Criteria
The criteria on which each nominee for Exporter of the Year will be judged are:
- Which countries the company exports to
- % of exports relative to overall sales
- Increase in % of exports relative to overall sales over the past two years
- Number and locations of markets receiving exports
- Number and location of new markets receiving exports
- Increase in employment within company due to export sales
- The biggest challenge in the course of the exporting process and how it was overcome
- Social responsibility and environmental sustainability of company
SERVICE PROVIDER OF THE YEAR
Service Provider of the Year is a company, bank, freight forwarder, insurer, attorney, accounting firm, customs broker, educational institution or other organization that has significantly provided the San Diego County business community with assistance in international trade.
Judging Criteria
The criteria on which each nominee for Service Provider of the Year will be judged are:
- Quality of assistance provided undefined in what ways has the organization made it easier for clients to do business abroad?
- The value and volume of deals the company has serviced
- Introduction/development of innovative and improved services
- Biggest challenge in the process of providing service to the San Diego business community and how it was overcome
